Karachi: Nurses’ protest enters second day
KARACHI (92 News) – The provincial nursing association and young association of the government hospitals of the entire province of Sindh continued to protest over non-provision of allowance.
The nursing association said that their demands, including promotion and issuance of health allowance, were not fulfilled despite protest. They said that now they would take written guarantee from the government.
The protesting nurses threatened to boycott all the government hospital departments.
Joint Action Committee (JAC) said that the sit-in could be turned into a hunger strike.
Earlier, Health Additional Secretary Aslam Pechuho had said that no such demands have been made before. The nursing association would be responsible for any loss of the patients, he said.
