Karachi water supply disrupted as 72-inch pipeline bursts
KARACHI (92 News) – Water supply to several areas of Karachi was disrupted on Friday after a 72-inch pipeline pipeline at the Dhabeji pumping station burst.
As per details, a 72-inch diameter pipeline of the metropolis at the Dhabeji pumping station to Karachi burst owing to pressure caused by power breakdowns.
Due to the suspension of water supply, as per roughly estimates, the residents of the big city are depriving of roughly 80-100 million gallons of water.
It has been learnt that there was no official word on how long it will take the water utility to repair the pipeline and ensure water supply to the affected areas.
It is reported that the repair work was initiated immediately after the incident and Karachi is being supplied water from alternate sources.
