Kashmiris observe Youm-e-Istiqlal in IHK

SRINAGAR (92 News) – Kashmiris take out a rally to observe Youm-e-Istiqlal in Occupied Kashmir on Friday.

Rallies are being taken out from the entire Valley towards Jamia Masjid, Srinagar to observe Youm-e-Istiqlal in Occupied Kashmir today.

The call for the march was given by joint Hurriyet leadership comprising Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik as part of new protest campaign.

The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference Syed Ali Gilani, has strongly condemned the arrest of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chief, Muhammad Yasin Malik, and house detention of the Chairman of Hurriyet forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.

The puppet authorities in the occupies Kashmir authorities arrested Muhammad Yasin Malik and placed Mirwaiz Umar Farooq under house arrest on Thursday.

Indian troops, in their fresh act of state terrorism, martyred three Kashmiri youth in Baramulla district. The troops killed the youth during violent military operation at Torna Rampur in Uri area of the district. The operation continued till reports last came in.


A senior Indian Army officer was injured in an attack in the same area. Indian Army claimed that the youth were militants and were killed in an encounter with the troops.

Indian authorities imposed curfew in parts of Srinagar on Friday to prevent a protest march called by the Hurriyet leaders.

Meanwhile, life remained affected on the consecutive 126th day today due to a separatist-sponsored strike. “Curfew has been imposed in seven areas to maintain law and order,” said a police official. Hurriyet leaders have called for the march to the Jamia Mosque in the city’s Nowhatta area. Congregational Friday prayers have not been allowed inside the mosque during past 17 weeks.
