Kashmiris have right of self-determination: COAS
RAWALPIDNI (92 News) – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has said that Kashmiris have right of self-determination.
In a statement on the 1st death anniversary Burhan wani, he said that the sacrifices of Burhan Wani and Kashmiri youth against Indian atrocities are a testimony of their resolve.
Meanwhile, Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and in the world are marking the first martyrdom anniversary of Kashmiri freedom fighter Burhan Muzaffar Wani on Saturday.
The anniversary is being observed with a renewed pledge to continue the mission of martyrs till success of the struggle for liberation of Kashmir.
Political, religious and social organizations have chalked out a number of programs to pay homage to the young Kashmiri freedom fighter who lost his life while striving for the freedom of his motherland.
Meanwhile, tens of thousands of Indian armed soldiers and police are patrolling deserted streets in Indian-occupied Kashmir to enforce a curfew on the anniversary of the killing of a charismatic rebel leader.
Indian security forces on Saturday sealed off the hometown of the 22-year-old Burhan Wani, who was martyred along with two associates by the Indian troops last year.
The Indian authorities have also shut mobile internet services as part of the security lockdown to stop activists from rallying online support against Indian rule.
Hundreds of persons were killed and thousands others were injured in daily clashes between Indian security forces and protesters for a period of over four months.
The Kashmir University has cancelled exams due to be held on Saturday. The varsity said that the revised schedule would be released later. Trains running between Baramulla and Bannihal in Jammu have been cancelled by the Indian puppet administration.
