Kasur anti-judiciary rally: LHC frames charges against all six accused
LAHORE (92 News) – The Lahore High Court on Friday framed charges against all those involved in making remarks against the judiciary during a rally in Kasur.
Accused MNA Waseem Akhtar, MPA Naeem Safdar, Kasur Baitul Maal Chairperson Nasir Mehmood and Market Committee Chairperson Jameel Ahmed have denied the charges.
The court has provided the copies of indictment to the accused, ordering them to submit the reply within seven days.
A three-member bench led by Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi had on May 9 decided to indict the six accused, including two Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz lawmakers.
On April 13, a protest rally was organized in Kasur wherein PML-N leaders participated. The case against the rally participants was filed on the grounds that they used inappropriate language against the judiciary and other state institutions.
