Khyber Pakhtunkhwa MPs end sit-in after successful talks with Khawaja Asif
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Sit-in by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government and opposition parties against unfair distribution of resources outside the parliament ended after Federal Minister for Defense Khawaja Asif assured the protesters of meeting their demands within one week.
As per reports, Khwaja Asif came to greet KPK Chief Minister (CM) Pervez Khattak as he led the protestors in front of the Parliament. He held talks with the KPK representatives and assured the protesters that their demands will be met within a week.
Talking to the media after the meeting the defense minister said that the issues of KP would be solved within one week. “We will find a long-standing solution to the provincial problems,” he said.
Parvez Khattak said that the provincial government would hold meeting with the WAPDA authorities after two days. “The reservations presented by the province have been cleared and notification would soon be issued,” he added.
Jamaat-t-Islami (JI) chief Surajul Haq, PTI’s Shibli Faraz, Qaumi Watan Party s (QWP) Sikandar Sherpao and Awami National Party s (ANP) Ilyas Bilour were included in the negotiations party from protesters side.
Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members broke into a scuffle with the police officials standing guard outside the Parliament ahead of their sit-in along with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government and opposition parties for provincial rights.
The KP Assembly had announced a sit-in outside the Parliament against neglecting the federal government for neglecting the provincial rights.
