LB Polls: Independent candidates emerge as major force
LAHORE (92 News) – The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) gained lead in Punjab, while the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) won the first phase of the local bodies elections in Sindh.
The independent candidates have emerged as a third largest party in both provinces.
In Punjab, the PML-N won more than 1100 seats, while in Sindh, the PPP gained victory in more than 600 seats.
According to unofficial results, the PML-N clean-sweeped the PTI in Lahore, the PTI could not even get benefit from the war between Abid Sher Ali and Rana Sanaullah groups.
The LB polls were heald in 12 districts of the province, in which the ruling party has been declared victorious in 11 districts.
On the other hand, in Sindh, the PPP has been declared victorious in all eight districts, while Functional League emerged as second largest party.
Meanwhile, the independent candidates have emerged as a major force in both the provinces.
