LHC reserves verdict on petition seeking freezing Sharif family assets
LAHORE (92 News) – The Lahore High Court (LHC) has on Thursday reserved the judgment on petition regarding freezing of assets of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his children till the completion of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) references proceedings.
The LHC judge Justice Mamoonur Rasheed resumed hearing of the petition filed by Barrister Syed Muhammad Javed Iqbal Jafferi.
During the proceedings, Barrister Syed Muhammad Javed Iqbal Jafferi while presenting arguments said that the Supreme Court had ordered the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to file references against the Sharif family.
He said that apprehensions are there that Sharif family may clash with the institutions and fly abroad to avoid legal proceedings or inquiry.
The petitioner argued that Sharif family has various accounts and assets inside Pakistan and outside country, and prayed the court to issued orders to freeze all assets of Sharif family for the sake of implementation of SC orders.
