Locust attack is a bigger challenge than coronavirus, says PM Imran Khan
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the locust attack is a bigger challenge than coronavirus.
During his visit to National Locust Control Centre (NLCC) on Friday, he approved Action Plan Phase-II to eliminate locusts from the country.
He said that a package will be announced to compensate for the losses of farmers. “The government will take each step to eliminate locusts. The federal and provincial governments will have to make joint efforts to wipe out this menace,” he maintained.
Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa was also accompanying him.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan has ordered to bring wheat lying in godowns immediately into the market.
He also ordered to provide flour to the people by opening cheap bazaars.
The prime minister ordered to give a subsidy of Rs 35 billion to provide cheap flour to the masses. “We will import wheat in October if the need be,” he declared.
