Major disaster averted in Karachi; buried weapons cache recovered
KARACHI (92 News) –The police, Rangers and a secret agency jointly averted a major disaster by recovering a huge quantity of weapons and explosives buried in Orangi Town No 13 on Friday.
An accused has also been arrested.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has announced a cash prize of Rs three million each for the police, secret agency and Rangers.
The weapons and explosives had been buried in a room.
The India-made weapons include rocket launchers, Kalashnikovs, revolvers, sniper rifles, 11 LMGs, a heavy machine gun, eight Bold Action Rifle, two bullet proof jackets, 7,000 live bullets and one each RPG and SM.
Sources disclosed that the weapons had been brought for mass-scale terrorism.
