Maleeha apprises UN of drive against defamation of religions in Pakistan
NEW YORK (92 News) – Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the UN Maleeha Lodhi has apprised the United Nations of the national campaign against defamation of religions in her country.
Addressing the Global Forum of UN Alliance of Civilizations, she spoke of the importance of countering the incitement to hatred being witnessed in some parts of the world by the negative depiction of Muslims.
Given these troubling trends, she said that the role of bridge builders has become very important.
Maleeha Lodhi said that all countries will have to take steps to stop defamation of religions and holy personalities.
