Martyred 2nd Lt Abdul Moeed laid to rest in Lahore
LAHORE (92 News) – Second Lieutenant Abdul Moeed, who was martyred in a terrorist attack in North Waziristan Agency, was laid to rest in Martyrs Graveyard in Cavalry Ground on Wednesday.
Hundreds of people, including Lahore Corps Commander Lt Gen Aamer Riaz, the Punjab Rangers chief, senior military and civil officials and other personalities attended the funeral prayer in Ayub Stadium.
A large number of people belonging to different segments of society also participated in the funeral prayer of the martyr.
Earlier, his funeral prayers was offered in his ancestral village 160/EB Machiwal, Vehari yesterday.
Garrison Commander Jawwad Ahnad Zaka, Vehari Deputy Commissioner Ali Akbar Bhatti, DPO Umar Saeed Malik, MNA Tahir Iqbal Chaudhry, MPA Bilal Akbar Bhatti, former MNA Nazir Ahmed Jatt, high-ranking military and civil officers attended the funeral.
Martyred 2nd Lt Abdul Moeed belonged to 4 Northern Light Infantry. It was his first posting after the passing-out from Kakul Military Academy.
Second Lieutenant Abdul Moeed and Sepoy Basharat were martyred after terrorists fired on their vehicle from the surrounding mountains in North Waziristan Agency.
Lt Abdul moeed 21 years old recently passed out from PMA was resident of Burewala, Vehari and Sep Basharat, 21 years old having 3 years military service resident of village Danyor, Gilgit.
