Maryam kickstarts mother’s campaign today
LAHORE (92 News) – Maryam Nawaz, daughter of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif will today (Tuesday)officially launch the election campaign of her mother Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, who is currently undergoing cancer treatment in London.
The daughter of former prime minister will start the campaign by visiting the shrine of Hazrat Data Ganj Baksh.
Maryam had said she would be staying in the Lahore constituency of the National Assembly-120 to ensure victory for the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in the by-elections.
Election for the seat, which fell vacant after the disqualification of Sharif over the Panamagate case, will take place on September 17.
Maryam has held meetings with the PML-N workers in the constituency and directed them to campaign aggressively for her mother. She also directed party workers to do door-to-door campaigns and to listen to the people’s problems.
Maryam has replaced her cousin Hamza Shahbaz, who until now was running Kulsoom’s campaign, placing the campaign in the hands of some one Nawaz Sharif trusts — his daughter more than his nephew.
