May 12 tragedy: Victims still wait for justice after nine years
KARACHI (92 News) – Following the nineth anniversary of May 12, in which around 50 people were killed and hundreds other injured, the victims are still awaiting for justice.
Lawyers will observe a ‘Black Day’ and boycott the courts today (Thursday) to mark the incident.
The lawyers have demanded the government to form a judicial commission to investigate into the incident.
May 12 2007 was one of the darkest days of the city ever witnessed. At least 40 people had lost their lives while hundreds other injured.
Activists of opposing political parties clashed on the streets of the metropolis and opened fire on each other. More than 30 people were killed and scores were injured in clashes.
