Military phase of Zarb-e-Azb completes in North Waziristan: Brig Shabbir
PESHAWAR (92 News) – Operation Commander Brigadier Shabbir has said that they have completed the military phase of the Zarb-e-Azb Operation in North Waziristan.
Talking to 92 News, he said that Shawal had been cleared. He said that 100-200 terrorists had been killed in the operation and about 80 injured.
The operation commander said that six officials, including a captain, embraced martyrdom while six officials, including a lieutenant colonel, were injured.
“Before the operation, there were 1,200-2,500 terrorists in the area and now they had fled. The Pak-Afghan border has completely been sealed where check-posts have been established,” he added.
He said that a long tunnel had been traced in the Shawal area where two high-value targets with their accomplices were living. “The 35m deep and 300m long tunnel was considered to be safe during the drone attack. Every facility had been provided in the tunnel.”
Operation Commander Brigadier Shabbir said that a huge quantity of weapons used by terrorists had been seized.
“After clearing Shawal in 2015, the Pak Army has started its restoration,” he said.
