Model Ayyan Ali’s bail plea rejected
RAWALPINDI (92 News) – A Customs court rejected the bail plea of model Ayyan Ali on Wednesday.
Ayyan’s counsel Sardar Latif Khosa and Sardar Ishaq appeared before court and presented their arguments. The team argued that though the money was recovered from the supermodel’s possession, she “didn’t intend to ‘smuggle’ it.
“She was waiting for her brother who was due from Karachi to collect the money from her,” they said.
The lawyer claimed that US$500,000 is the fee she charges for a show and she was carrying it when she was arrested at the airport.
In response, the prosecution lawyer said that the State shall have to bear a loss of a Rs one billion if the accused is allowed bail.
