Modi himself came to meet Nawaz but not receive call of PM Khan: Ahsan
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Pakistan Muslim league-N (PML-N) stalwart and former Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal on Wednesday said that Indian PM himself came to meet Nawaz Sharif but now does not receive call of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Taking to the floor of national Assembly (NA), Ahsan Iqbal said that the prime minister did not present the positive image of Pakistan in foreign countries.
Crticising Imran Khan, he termed that he [PM Khan] himself presented the bad picture of the country, adding, “Sales manager himself defamed his company as corrupt.”
Ahsan Iqbal expressed serious concerns over the policies of government by terming them as a threat for the country. “Two mini budgets were unveiled by the government which means that they did not had their homework done. Seven months in power and second mini budget is coming,” said the PML-N leader.
“It was said in the speech that they came to know of the deficit after coming in power. This could be argument of a primary student but not of the founder of new Pakistan,” he condemned.
“We improved the economic infrastructure in five years; CPEC became game changer for Pakistan. World Bank declared in January 2018 that the country’s economy will progress by six percent. The economy which was boosting from past five years crashed in seven months,” he maintained.
PTI promised heaven in Naya Pakistan but pushed nation into hell: Ahsan
Earlier, Ahsan Iqbal said on Thursday that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) promised of heaven in the film of ‘Naya Pakistan’ but pushed nation into hell.
Addressing a press conference along with former premier Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and former defence minister Khawaja Asif, Ahsan Iqbal said that The PTI government as a threat to the country, adding, “People are suffering owing to the hike in gas and electricity prices.”
Speaking on the occasion, former premier Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that the arrest of Sindh Assembly speaker without any proof is unwarranted and an attack on democracy. “This is not a personal matter of Agha Siraj Durrani but that of a sitting speaker,” he added.
He also mentioned that the protest should be recorded on arrest of Sindh Assembly speaker without any evidence. Stating that no one has reservations with inquiries, Abbasi said, “No evidence has been found against Saad Rafique as yet. The National Assembly speaker should issue Rafique’s production orders as it is his right to represent his constituency.”
“There was no need for a hike in electricity and gas prices,” he said while adding that they are not getting a chance to raise the issue of inflation in the Parliament.
