Mohammad Hafeez, Junaid Khan return home to hero’s welcome

LAHORE (92 News) – Hundreds of fans gathered in the cities of Lahore and Islamabad on Wednesday and welcomed home all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez and fast bowler Junaid Khan, members of new Champions Trophy winner Pakistan.

Fans decorated the street and waited through the night to welcome their heroes, with some carrying children on their shoulders to get a glimpse of the men who led Pakistan to an unlikely win in the Champions Trophy in London.

Mohammad Hafeez reached Lahore where he was warmly welcomed by his family, friends and hundreds of fans.

 

 

Men, women and children packed the airport and chanted ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ and ‘Professor Zindabad’ while nearby and player’s vehicle was showered with petals.


Talking to media, Muhammad Hafeez said that the juniors and seniors have performed well in the tournament and everyone fulfilled their responsibilities.

A similar reception was accorded to the who took eight wicket in the tournament, Junaid Khan, when he reached Swabi.
