8th Muharram processions taken out amid tight security across country

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Mourners took out the 8th Muharram processions across the country.

A large number of mourners participated in the processions.

Stringent security arrangements had been made to maintain law and order.

In Rawalpindi, the procession was taken out from the house of Sain Sadiq. It concluded at Qadeemi Imambargah after passing through its traditional route. About 6,000 cops had been deployed to provide security to mourners.

In Peshawar, the procession was taken out from the house of Imambargah Syed Alam Shah.


In Gujranwala, as many as 75 processions of Alam, Tazia and Zuljinnah were taken out. In all, 164 majalis were held.

In Chiniot, the procession started from Thatti Sharqi. A large number of mourners participated in the procession.
