MQM announces dissociation from Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad; seeks his resignation
KARACHI (92 News) – The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has announced its dissociation from Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad on Monday, seeking his resignation.
Addressing a press conference on Monday, Farooq Sattar said that Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad had failed to fulfil his responsibilities and remained silent on countless atrocities against MQM workers. “What is the benefit of governorship if target killing of MQM workers continues and public problems remain unresolved?” he said.
He alleged that Dr Ishratul Ebad failed to extend help in the formation of monitoring committees regarding forced disappearances of MQM workers and raids on the areas of MQM stronghold.
He said the governor’s approach towards several matters of importance regarding MQM cannot be ignored.
