MQM denies connection in Imran Farooq murder
KARACHI (92 News) – The Muttahida Qaumi Movement has on Friday denied any connection with the assassination of senior party leader Dr Imran Farooq who was killed in London after the confession of the accused.
In a statement issued by the MQM from London, the MQM said that the party is aware of reports in the media that individuals held in detention by Pakistani authorities have allegedly confessed to the murder of Dr Imran Farooq. These individuals have allegedly named MQM leader as having ordered the killing.
The MQM categorically said that no party leader have had anything to do with the tragic death of Dr Farooq. We mourn the loss of a man who was our friend and colleague for many years.
“MQM welcomes any assistance that may be provided to the British Metropolitan Police Service, who continue to investigate the death of Dr Farooq,” the statement said.
