MQM leaders reach London for consultations on Karachi’s mayorship
KARACHI (92 News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) leaders Farooq Sattar, Nasreen Jalil and Waseem Akhtar have on Thursday reached London to attend a party meeting, in which the name for the mayorship of Karachi would be finalized.
Talking to media at the London airport on Thursday, Farooq Sattar said that they have arrived for consultations on some matters, adding that the mini budget presented by the government and the privatization of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will also be discussed.
He said that not a single political party has majority in country that is why it is necessary to work together on a national agenda.
The MQM leader said that they achieved more success than expected in the local government elections, adding that they won more seats in Karachi, Hyderabad and Mirpur Khas from the past.
“Our whole concentration will be on the resolution of the basic issues of people,” Sattar added.
