MQM to stage demo over water scarcity today
KARACHI (92 News) – The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) will on Sunday (today) stage a protest demonstration over severe scarcity of water in Karachi and continuous apathy of Sindh government on the issue.
The Party’s Coordination Committee said that it was agreed during a meeting that the Karachiites were in serious anxiety about the current water crisis and other civic issues while the Sindh government seemed showing lackluster to find the resolutions.
The Coordination Committee said that the people had been protesting on daily bases but the government and authorities seemed taking no action on.
On the other hand, the routes to Chief Minister House have been completely closed as the barricades have been placed on the roads leading towards CM House following the MQM’s protest.
According to police, the roads have been blocked for security reasons while traffic is being diverted to alternative routes.
