Muharram security: 39-point security plan given to Lahore police
LAHORE (92 News) – A 39-point security plan was handed over to the Lahore police on Thursday.
Under the plan, the Army and Rangers will remain deployed in the city from Muharram 7 to 10.
The police have written a letter to Punjab Home Department for suspending the mobile phone service.
As many as 10,000 policemen will be deployed to provide security to 616 mourning processions and 5,700 Majalis.
The police have declared 870 places as sensitive. Pillion riding will be banned in all cities.
The mourning processions will be monitored through drones. Leaves of cops deployed for operation duties have been cancelled.
