HAMILTON (92 News) – New Zealand beat Pakistan by ten wickets in the second T20 cricket match at Hamilton and leveled the three match series by one-one on Sunday.

A world record opening partnership for New Zealand ensured they leveled the Twenty20 series against Pakistan with a 10-wicket win in Hamilton on Sunday. Captain Kane Williamson and Martin Guptill put on an unbroken stand of 171 for the first wicket as they made New Zealand’s pursuit of Pakistan’s 168-7 off their 20 overs look like a walk in the park.

Pakistan scored 168/7 in 20 overs. Umar Akmal displayed some majestic pinch hitting as he scored 56 from 27 balls that included four boundaries and four sixes as well. He was nicely supported by Shoaib Malik who scored a 30-ball 39.

The Pakistani bowlers failed to even trouble the batsmen as Guptill and Williamson seemed comfortable at the crease. With easy boundaries on one side, it was always going to be tough for the visitors.

Guptill scored 87 runs off 58 balls with 4 sixes and 9 boundaries while Williamson raced his way to a gritty 48 ball 72 which included 11 boundaries. The duo registered the best opening and the best partnership in T20Is putting up 171 unbeaten. The Kiwis romped home in a majestic fashion.
