NA-120 By-Polls: ECP expresses anger over violation of code of conduct
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has on Tuesday expressed anger over failure of Punjab Food Minister Bilal Yaseen to appear before the commission.
A two-member commission headed Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sardar Raza Khan resumed hearing of the case.
During the proceedings, Punjab Food Minister Bilal Yaseen and his lawyer did not appear to which the CEC expressed anger.
The CEC remarked that Bilal Yaseen is violating the ECP’s code of conduct in the NA-120 by-election campaign.
He remarked that if the ruling party itself violates the conduct, then others will follow them.
He warned that if the provincial food minister continued to violate the ECP’s code of conduct, the ECP will issue show cause notice for his disqualification.
The commission also asked Bilal Yaseen to submit reply until September 7.
