NA-122, NA-144 by-elections: Tempers flare as PTI, PML-N workers come face to face
LAHORE (92 News) – Clashes emerged during the by-elections in National Assembly seats NA-122 Lahore and NA-144 Okara between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’s (PML-N) workers.
Tempers flared in NA-122 by-elections as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’s (PML-N) workers came face to face in Basti Syedan Shah area of Lahore.
The PML-N’s workers encircled PTI workers and started chanting slogans against them, which later turned into a clash. The workers of both political parties threw chairs at each other.
In Shadman, the workers of PML-N and PTI came face to face and chanted slogans against each other.
Harsh words were exchanged between the workers of both parties. Police stepped in and stopped the clash from escalating any further.
On the other hand, police stopped PTI candidate Abdul Aleem Khan in Baja Line area, where the PTI and PML-N workers shout slogans.
In NA-144, a clash erupted between voters and police in village 29. Police baton charged the voters after which the army soldiers reached the spot and resumed the polling process.
