NAB approves another reference against Nawaz, Shahbaz
LAHORE (92 News) – The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has approved to file another reference against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif
The decision was made during a meeting of the Executive Board presided over by NAB Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal on Wednesday. The reference will be filed for constructing Raiwind Road up to the house of Nawaz Sharif in 2000. A loss of Rs 120 million was caused to the national exchequer by constructing the road illegally.
The meeting also decided to launch a probe into the Nandipur Power Project against Babar Awan and Raja Pervaiz Ashraf.
On the other hand, the decision was also made to start investigations against former prime minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, former chief minister Aslam Raisani, Arbab Alamgir and his wife.
References will also be filed ETPB chairman Asif Hashmi for allotment of illegal plots, WAPDA former chairman Tariq Hameed for rental power, Tobacco Board former chairman Sahibzada Khalid for illegal appointments and Jamia Urdu former VC for misappropriation of funds.
The board also approved to initiate investigations against former MNAs Ghulam Haider, Sultan Hanjra and other officers for allotment of lands and misappropriation of funds.
Meanwhile, a probe has also been approved against NICL former chairman Ayaz Niazi.
