NAB deposits looted Rs303bn to national exchequer: Javed Iqbal
PESHAWAR (92 News) – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (rtd) Javed Iqbal on Thursday said that the anti-graft watchdog body recovered Rs303bn despite same into government’s kitty and deposited looted money to national exchequer.
Chairing a meeting at the NAB Peshawar office to review so far progress made on the mega graft cases, the chairman NAB said that they are committed to take the mega corruption cases to their logical conclusion.
Indiscriminate actions to continue against corrupt people
Javed Iqbal vowed to continue across the board actions to root out corruption from Pakistan. He further expressed satisfaction over the performance of the department and expressed determination to continue to take action against the corrupt people.
The NAB chief said the bureau was striving hard for corruption free Pakistan and to achieve this goal indiscriminate actions were underway countrywide. He underlined the need to eliminate menace of corruption for the uplift of the country.

Earlier, the NAB chairman said that 303 billion rupees had been recovered from corrupt elements and deposited into the national exchequer.
Addressing a business community event, Javed Iqbal said the NAB was using all resources to bring back those who had fled abroad. He also said those who had illegally plundered wealth in Pakistan had made big offshore assets like plazas and valuable assets in different countries.
“The NAB considers eradication of corruption from the country its prime responsibility,” Javed Iqbal said. He said the country would be prosperous, if the business community would be prosperous.
He said the accountability bureau did not hurt anybody’s self-respect during investigation. “We summon people with all due respect,” he said. Javed Iqbal said he always helped needy people as a judge.
On March 7, Javed Iqbal had vowed to bring back home “all the plunderers of national wealth” who had ‘fled abroad’.
