NAB has no political agenda, says Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal
LAHORE (92 News) – National Accountability Bureau Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal has said that the bureau has no political agenda and there will be no revengeful action against anyone.
Addressing officers at Civil Secretariat in Lahore on Monday, he said that the NAB wants to do work on merit.
He urged the officers to work with dedication, saying that no arrested officer will be handcuffed in future. “The bureaucracy is the backbone of the country. How will we advance if it will not make decisions? The government makes the policy while the bureaucracy implements it,” he said.
The NAB chairman said that mega corruption cases surfaced in Punjab last year. ‘We had concrete evidence against the officers against whom the action was taken,” he said.
He said that it is his top priority to take the mega corruption cases to the logical conclusion. “The NAB is indiscriminately taking action to end corruption from the country,” he said.
Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal urged the officers to play a key role to end corruption. “The NAB will not take a step damaging the economy of the country,” he said.
