SUKKUR (92 News) – The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has obtained further evidence against Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) senior leader Khursheed Shah.

The NAB alleged that Razzaq Bahrani transferred an amount of Rs2.5 million from his bank account to Khursheed Shah on behalf of kickbacks and the corruption watchdog body obtained all the evidences.

According to documents obtained by the NAB, Razzaq Bahrani transferred the money to Khursheed Shah’s account. Bahrani acted as ‘frontman’ of senior PPP leader Khursheed Ahmed Shah. Later, he started work as government contractor.

It was also reported that Razzaq Bahrani was also served as manager of Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani.

Bahrani was arrested in Karachi some time ago after a NAB inquiry found that an amount of Rs2.5 million was transferred from his bank account to that of Khursheed Shah, who is also facing a NAB reference pertaining to a mega corruption scam.

The contractor is accused of having embezzled public funds meant for development works in Jacobabad district and running benami assets of Aijaz Jakhrani, currently an adviser to the CM on prisons, and his family members.

On Monday, a session court in Sukkur extended the judicial remand of Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) senior leader Khursheed Shah for five days in assets beyond income case.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has to present PPP leader in an accountability court after expiring his remand but he was presented before Sukkur Session Court judge Sharaf Din Shah due to leave of accountability court judge.

Khursheed Shah was taken in the ambulance and use wheel chair to present in the court.

Earlier in the day, the NAB prosecutor pleaded to extend in his physical remand for another 15 days in absence of the PPP leader. The judge refused to grant remand of the PPP leader in absence of the accused.

Later, the court extended the physical remand of Khursheed Shah.

On Oct 27, the PPP senior leader was admitted to the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) in Sukkur after deteriorating health conditions and high blood pressure.
