Nandipur project scam investigation under process, says Chairman NAB

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry has on Tuesday said that they didn’t want to toss anyone’s name before the completion of investigation report regarding Nandipur Power Project.

Inaugurating a Forensic Laboratory of the NAB in Islamabad on Tuesday, he said that it will greatly help NAB in investigations, adding that the interrogation in Nandipur Power project is under process.

The first phase of the investigation probes the project from its approval to the start of the project. He said that the second phase of the investigation would concern increases in the projects costs and payments.

NAB Chairman said that NAB is better equipped now and can also help other departments in investigations. He said that new Standard Operating Procedures have been adopted to eliminate corruption. He said monitoring and evaluation system has been installed to augment the capacity of NAB.

Chairman NAB said 92 percent old cases have been cleared now and pending cases will be cleared by the end of this year. He said ten months have been fixed for investigation of every case.
