National Coordination Committee to decide extension in countrywide lockdown today

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The National Coordination Committee (NCC) will decide the extension in the countrywide lockdown on Tuesday. The decision was made during a meeting presided over by Prime Minister Imran Khan. The announcement regarding the extension period will be made after a meeting on Tuesday. The meeting also agreed to continue testing facilities and launch public awareness campaign in an effective way. Moreover, the prime minister will announce opening of the first phase of the construction sector on Tuesday. Earlier, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah demanded that the lockdown should be extended for 14 days. “We will restore the economy under the leadership Prime Minister Imran Khan, but we have to save the people from coronavirus for the time being,” he said. He said that coronavirus cases are on the rise and the people are dying. “A patient suffering from coronavirus dies within six hours,” he said. The chief minister said that they would follow the directions given by the prime minister. He asked the prime minister to give them the list of sectors he wants to open.
