National team won’t visit India until clear security guarantee, declares Ch Nisar
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has declared that the national cricket team will not visit India until clear-cut guarantee of security from the Indian government.
Talking to the media on Thursday, he said: “Pakistan wants that its cricket team should visit India. But it is India that looks for pretexts not to play a match with us.”
The minister said that the threats they received so far are with regard to Pakistan.
On Wednesday, the most anticipated match between India and arch-rivals Pakistan was shifted to Kolkata over security concerns at the original venue for the March 19 clash at Dharamsala.
On the other hand, Minister of State for Home Affairs Shri Kiren Rijiju said that they were ready to give additional security to the Pakistani team, but they could not give the written security.
A spokesman for the Indian External Affairs Ministry said that they would provide complete security to the Pakistani team.
He also threatened they would adopt the legal course if the Pakistani team did not visit India. “Pakistan’s refusal to visit India is unjustified,” he maintained.
