Cardiac Ward declared sub-jail after Nawaz shifted to PIMS
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) hospital’s cardiac ward has been declared sub-jail for former prime minister Nawaz Sharif when he was shifted from Adiala Jail to the hospital.
The authorities have issued a notification in this regard, besides closing the ward to other patients and the general public by taking strict security measures.
The security inside and outside the PIMS hospital was tightened and 10 police officers, under the head of the superintendent of police (SP) for prison department, were stationed to stay with Sharif.
Five-member team of the doctors will conduct the medical examine the former premier today.
Earlier on Sunday, the authorities shifted Nawaz Sharif from Adiala jail to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) after his health deteriorated.

The medical board headed by Dr Ejaz Qadeer carried out medical checkup of the former prime minister after he complained about pain in his arm and heart.
Punjab Caretaker Home Minister Shaukat Javed said on state-run Pakistan Television (PTV) that doctors had advised his transfer to hospital after an electrocardiogram had shown variations. “How many days he stays in hospital depends on doctors,” Javed said.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has prayed for Nawaz Sharif’s early recovery after it was announced the former prime minister would be shifted to a hospital for medical treatment.
A day earlier, Nawaz Sharif was reportedly experiencing blood clotting in both arms, causing doctors to recommend he be shifted to the cardiac care unit at PIMS.
The area has also been cleaned. He will be admitted to PIMS’ executive ward. The room he is being shifted to has all the facilities he requires, Farah Rabbani. Nawaz’s cardiologists will also be nearby. The operations SSP has visited the hospital and a bomb disposal squad has swept the area.
