Nawaz Sharif unlikely to appear before NAB today
LAHORE (92 News) – Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his two sons – Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz – are not expected to appear before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) today (Friday).
Disqualified prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his two sons had been summoned by the NAB to appear before it today (Friday) in its Lahore office for interrogation in connection with the money laundering and corruption cases.
Moreover, former PM’s cousin Tariq Shafi and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar have also been summoned by the NAB.
On the other hand, NAB officials contacted Lahore Police officials for the security of the former prime minister. According to police officials, more than 200 police officials would be deployed.
Earlier, the Volume-10 of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) had also been handed over to NAB.
On July 28, the five-member bench of the Supreme Court had disqualified Mr Sharif for possessing a work permit in the firm of his son in the UAE.
The apex court had also directed the NAB to investigate money laundering and other corruption charges against Sharif and his children, son-in-law Safdar and relative federal finance minister Ishaq Dar in light of the report of the Joint Investigation Team.
