NBP ex-president among several officials arrested after bail cancellation
KARACHI (92 News) – The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arrested NBP former president Ali Raza and several officials after the cancellation of their bail by the Sindh High Court on Friday.
The arrested officials include Ali Raza, Imran Ghani, regional chief Zubair and GM Bangladesh Waseem Khan. However, the accused Qamar Hussain and Kausar Iqbal were granted bail.
The arrested accused have been shifted to the lock-up. They will be presented before an accountability court.
The NAB officials contended that the accused had misused their powers and caused a loss of Rs 18 billion to the national exchequer.
They told court that they had written letters to the SAARC countries for the arrest of fleeing Bangladesh nationals.
