Nehal Hashmi released after one month in prison
RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Former Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nehal Hashmi was released from Adiala Jail on Wednesday after completing his one-month prison sentence.
Hundreds of PML-N supporters and activists were present outside the jail who showered rose petals following his release.
The Supreme Court had last month sentenced former senator Nehal Hashmi to one-month imprisonment and Rs50,000 fine for hurling threats to those investigating the Panama case.
Talking to the media after his release, former senator Nehal Hashmi said that the National Accountability Bureau was “the most corrupt institution in the country.”
He said his appeal against the sentence had not been heard. “Does this sound like justice or revenge?” he asked rhetorically.
He said nobody could stop him from working for democracy or calling Nawaz Sharif his leader.
