PM Nawaz Sharif performs ground breaking of Sukkur-Multan Motorway

SUKKUR (92 News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has performed the ground breaking of Sukkur-Multan Motorway in Sukkur on Friday.

Addressing the rally after performing ground breaking of the motorway, Nawaz Sharif said that his political rivals including former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf have conducted investigations against him but could not prove anything.

He said that today’s Pakistan is completely different from the country three years ago, adding that they are serving the country for the last three years with honesty and the world is appreciating this.

The prime minister said that neither he nor any of his family members are involved in corruption.

He further criticized his political rivals and said that the projects including China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) have been delayed due to sit-ins, adding that they have never frightened of any conspiracies.

He said that said that there is no difference between terrorists and those staging sit-ins. “Our agenda is progress, prosperity and development of the country and we will not back out of our agenda no matter how many hurdles are put in our way,” he said.


He was accompanied by Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah. The motorway will be completed with the assistance of China will provide high-speed transportation between Sindh and Punjab provinces.

Earlier, Sindh Chief Minister received the Prime Minister at the Sukkur Airport. The motorway passing through Multan-Jalalpur Peerwala Ahmed Pur East, Ubaro and Pano Aqil will terminate at Sukkur.

Construction of 12 service areas, 10 rest areas, 11 interchanges, 10 Flyovers and 426 underpasses is also included in this project. It will be completed with the financial assistance of China.

The 393 kilometers long Sukkur-Multan Motorway is part of crucially important project of Peshawar-Karachi Motorway. The project is part of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
