NEPRA announces cut in power tariff

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The National Electric Power Regularity Authority (NEPRA) has on Tuesday announced to provide relief of Rs2.19 per electricity unit against fuel adjustment charges for June 2015 and Rs 2.13 per unit for July 2015.

During a hearing of NEPRA, the Central Power Purchasing Agency said that 9.62 billion unit of electricity was produced in June 2015 which costs Rs 44.59 billion, while 10.35 billion unit of electricity was produced in July 2015 which costs Rs 45.94 billion.

As much as Rs 2.19 decreased in June and Rs 2.13 in July due to the decrease in fuel cost and increase in hydropower during the month of June and July.


The NEPRA directed CCPA to take legal action for delaying applications and reduced electricity prices. The consumers using 300 units won’t get relief.
