No dictator has been punished for violating constitution, says Nawaz Sharif
LAHORE (92 News) – Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has demanded withdrawal of the verdict on his disqualification.
Addressing the lawyers’ convention at Aiwan-e-Iqbal on Friday, he said that no dictator has been punished for violating the constitution.
“I do not want my restoration, but restoration of the people,” he maintained.
The former prime minister said that poor verdicts had damaged the credibility of courts. “Some judges in the past had ruled for dictators. The judges who had not seen the JIT ruled on it,” he said.
He called for reviewing the judgment against him.
