No PM completed tenure in the country: Marriyum Aurangzeb
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Minister of State for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb has on Friday said that all institutions should uphold supremacy of law and the Constitution.
Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad on Friday to mark completion of 70 years of the Parliament, she said that the concept of respecting mandate of the people and the constitution demands respect for the Parliament.
The minister regretted that throughout the history of the country, the Parliament remained most insecure of the institutions, adding that no elected prime minister completed her or his term in country’s 70-year history.
Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the country achieved developmental goals, moved ahead in all spheres of life and its standing improved globally during the periods when democratic governments were in place.
She said that it is the Parliament which gave right to information, right to education, right to due process and right to fair trial by amending the Constitution.
The minister said the country made all round progress during the last four years.
