December 5, 2020

LAHORE (92 News) – Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has expressed concern over an increase in coronavirus cases.

He said that the cases rate had increased to 10 percent from three percent. "The government has no problem with public meetings of the opposition, but no compromise will be made with human lives," he added.

The chief minister said that there is no ban on political activities; however, action will be taken on violation of standard operating procedures (SOPs).

He said that 19,941 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the second wave. "Over 2,000 smart lockdowns have been imposed in Punjab and 625 in Lahore alone," he added.

The Punjab chief minister said that there are 1,400 ventilators in Punjab and of them, 600 have been allocated for coronavirus patients. "The government wants continuity of business. But action will be taken if violation of SOPs continued in markets," he maintained.
