Nobody can pull NAB’s strings while I head it: Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – National Accountability Bureau Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal said that nobody could pull the strings at the Bureau while he headed it.
The remarks came during his interaction with reporters on his way to briefing the Public Accounts Committee of the National Assembly on Wednesday.
He said that inquiries into alleged corruption will be completed swiftly and efficiently.
The NAB chairman said that corruption has crossed all limits in Pakistan.
Responding to a question on Nawaz Sharif’s departure for London, Justice Iqbal said it was not for the NAB to stop him.
To a question, the NAB chief said it was not the Bureau’s concern when or if the elections were held. Also, he said, those facing allegations of corruption were answerable irrespective of the election schedule.
To another question, the NAB chief said no one can pull the accountability bureau’s strings; if strings are pulled, he will pick up his “briefcase and leave”.
