Nomination Papers Case: SC summons Ishaq Dar
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court (SC) on Monday summoned former finance minister Ishaq Dar in case relating to the approval of his nomination papers for Senate elections.
A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Mian Saqib Nisar took up the case.
During the hearing, the CJP directed Ishaq Dar to appear before the court next week. The court has also appointed Babar Sattar amicus in this case.
Giving his remarks, the CJP observed that that Dar had not challenged Accountability Court’s decision of declaring him absconder.
The court later adjourned the hearing till March 21.
Earlier, Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) leader Saleem Mandviwala had challenged the eligibility of newly-elected Senator Ishaq Dar.
PPP leader Saleem Mandviwala said that despite being declared proclaimed offender, Ishaq Dar opened an account in the National Bank.
He accused National Bank president Saeed Ahmad for helping Dar open an account.
