Nomination papers of Kalsoon Nawaz challenged in ECP
LAHORE (92 News) – A petition has been filed in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) challenging the nomination papers of Kalsoom Nawaz, wife of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif for the NA-120 by-polls.
The petition was filed by Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) candidate Ishtiaq Chaudhry in the ECP.
The petitioner argued that Kalsoom Nawaz has not attached the contract letter of the Iqama (work permit) with the nomination papers.
The petitioner further stated that the wife of former prime minister cannot use the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s name.
Besides Kulsoom Nawaz, notable among those in the run for NA-120 are Dr Yasmeen Rashid of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Hafiz Mian Zubair Kardar of the Pakistan People’s Party and advocate Ishtiaq Chaudhary of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek.
Jamaat-Ud-Dawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Saeed’s new political outfit Milli Muslim League (MML) has also fielded its candidate for the upcoming by-election of NA-120 in Pakistan.
