RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Captain Junaid Hafeez and Sepoy Rehman were martyred in a terrorists attack on Pakistan posts from the Afghanistan side in Bajaur Agency on Monday.

According to the ISPR, four jawans were also injured during the exchange of fire with the terrorists. Eight fleeing terrorists were killed while several others injured when the Pak Army retaliated.

The ISPR spokesman said that terrorist attacks occur as there was no writ of the government in several areas of the Afghan soil.

This is the price Pakistan is paying for security vacuum on Afghan side of the border. Pakistan has done its part; cleared all areas, fencing, new posts, enhanced presence along border and establishing of crossing points. More efforts are required on the Afghanistan side by all stake holders.

Lives of forces and citizens are equally precious on both sides of the border. It now requires elimination of terrorist’s sanctuaries in Afghanistan and effective Afghan border security.
