We are a responsible state and want peace, declares DG ISPR
RAWALPINDI (92 News) – DG ISPR Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor has said that the Pak Army and the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) had no option except to respond to Indian aggression.
Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, he said that Pakistan does not want to push the region to the war. “No one wins a war and only humanity loses. We are a responsible state and want peace. The war is not a solution to any problem. We do not want to do anything which will prove our irresponsibility,” he said.
He said that India had violated the Line of Control.
DG ISPR Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor said that the PAF had selected six targets, locked and attacked them in an open place.
Dispelling the Indian claims of shooting down a Pakistan F-16, the DG ISPR said that Pakistan has not used F-16 in the operation.
Meanwhile, DG ISPR Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor said that American officers had contacted them after Pak India tension. “Pentagon has also contacted the military leadership,” he said.
He said that they are apprising the world, including America, of the situation.
