Pak Army, Pak Navy continue relief & rescue efforts in Karachi's flood-hit areas

KARACHI (92 News) – The Pakistan Army and Pakistan Navy are continuing the relief and rescue efforts in flood-hit areas of Karachi. According to a press release issued by the ISPR on Saturday, Pakistan Army engineers cleared COD Underpass on Shahrah-e-Faisal for traffic. Work on KPT underpass is in progress. Availability of basic commodities, including ration items, are being provided through mobile teams in badly affected areas. De-watering at multiple locations is also continuing to ensure civic facilities. Moreover, Army mobile recovery vehicles are deployed at various choked points to shift vehicles struck in the flood to keep flow of traffic. As many as 32 emergency medical and 56 relief camps have been established in coordination with the civil administration are busy in helping people in distress in various parts of Karachi. Cooked meals are being provided to stranded people in flood-hit areas. Three Army field medical facilities have been established at Qayyumabad, Sarjani and Saditown. Army doctors and paramedics are providing immediate emergency medical care to flood victims.
