Pakistan-Afghanistan border remains close for 11th day

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Chaman border crossing between Pakistan and Afghanistan remains closed for the 11th consecutive day after Afghan protesters burned Pakistani flag.

Hundreds of people and containers-mounted trailers stood at the Pak-Afghan border in Chaman and trade activities remain suspended for the last 11 days.

The closing of the border has resulted in huge financial losses to traders and businessmen from both countries.

Hundreds of Afghans had gathered near the Chaman border crossing and chanted anti-Pakistan slogans. The protesters carrying placards and banners that had slogans against Pakistan, they bombarded the Gate with stones.


“The Friendship Gate at the Pak-Afghan border had been closed after the flag burning incident. The border will remain close for an indefinite period with Afghanistan.
